Overview:
\n
The Automation Supervisor provides operational and systemic support to the manufacturing and automation teams. This position work directly with the operation to troubleshoot problems or issues that arise, identify enhancements for the systems or processes that automated machinery is performing, and apply continuous improvement philosophy to improve the overall workflow efficiency and standardization. This position is responsible to manage the Automation Specialists in each location

What Will You Do?
\n
\n - Work with management and automation systems to ensure operation of autonomous machinery is meeting the business need.
\n - Physically interact with automation machinery to ensure proper operation.
\n - Troubleshoot systemic and operational issues arising from change order adjustments or enhancements; determine the root cause of the issue and/or work with IT as necessary to resolve.
\n - Collaborate with the distribution and fulfillment center management to determine key performance indicators for automated processes.
\n - Collaborate with operations management and end users to assist in the implementation of process improvement initiatives to increase productivity and safety, as well as reduce cost and waste, in all operational processes.
\n - Assist with the development and maintenance of departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs); notify appropriate personnel and assist with training as necessary.
\n - Work collaboratively with the distribution center training personnel to ensure all training materials are created, updated, and rolled out to appropriate locations. Follow the established audit system to validate the training has been completed.
\n - Gather and analyze data from the system to define issues or needed enhancements and work collaboratively to develop recommendations for solutions and/or improvements.
\n - Work directly with internal and external systems testing resource(s) to validate all new code. Ensure positive outcome of testing or make recommendations to appropriate personnel to modify new code for successful launch.
\n - Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure system enhancements meet the objectives; log errors and/or defects and provide feedback as appropriate.
\n - Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.
\n - Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area’s goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to.
\n - Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
\n - Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate.
\n - Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.
\n - Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials.
\n - Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.

Education and/or Qualifications:
\n
\n - Associate's degree in PLC Programming, Automation / Robotics, on related field, or equivalent 5 years or more of relevant work experience.
\n - Leadership experience of 4 or more years
\n - 5 years of PLC Programming or Automation Design/Assembly
\n - 5 years of automation maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
\n - Knowledge of current Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
\n - Knowledge and experience with 2D and 3D software
\n - Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
\n - Strong electrical and mechanical skillset
\n - Fabricating parts or assembling machines using hand tools
\n - Understanding of 2D electrical schematics
\n - Mechanical aptitude with good math skills
\n - Ability to use measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and other precision tools
\n - Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading 2d and 3d mechanical drawings
\n - Measure using English and Metric scales
\n - Communicate and work with others as part of a team
\n - Perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
\n - Strong attention to detail
\n - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
\n - Effective time management and organizational skills
\n - Work independently as well as in a team environment
\n - Document management system
