Welcomes visitors with a friendly face, sets a positive tone, directs customers to sections, answers basic questions (promotions, events), helps manage flow, offers carts/baskets, and sometimes assists with loss prevention by observing behavior and checking bags, all while creating an inviting atmosphere and supporting overall store operations, requiring great people skills and a welcoming attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome & Greet: Warmly greet every customer entering the store with a smile and positive attitude, making them feel welcome.
• Customer Assistance: Direct customers to specific book sections, answer general inquiries about store layout, hours, and current sales/events, and offer shopping carts or baskets.
• Atmosphere & Flow: Help manage customer traffic, ensuring a pleasant and organized shopping environment, and maintain the cleanliness of the entrance area.
• Brand Representation: Act as the "human face" of the bookstore, projecting friendliness and approachability.
• Security/Loss Prevention: Observe customer behavior, identify potential issues, and may check bags or packages for opened items, communicating with management/security as needed.
• Thank & Invite: Thank customers as they leave and invite them to return, reinforcing a positive experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• A friendly, welcoming personality and positive attitude.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to build rapport.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm in busy periods.
• Basic computer knowledge (sometimes for visitor systems or schedules).

• Enthusiasm & Sincerity: A genuine, warm welcome, not overly aggressive.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with the store, its layout, and events.
• Observational Skills: Noticing needs and potential security issues.
• Reliability: Dependable and able to work flexible schedules.
  
   

  Work Schedule and Typical Daily Duties:

  Monday-Friday 8a.m. - 4p.m.
