Job Description

CDL Trainer

A CDL driver trainer, also known as a commercial driver's license instructor, teaches aspiring truck drivers how to operate large vehicles safely and effectively, both in the classroom and on the road, preparing them to pass the CDL exam.

Responsibilities:

  • CDL instructors deliver both classroom instruction and hands-on training, covering topics like vehicle operation, safety procedures, and traffic laws.
  • They guide students through various driving scenarios, including backing maneuvers, lane changes, and navigating different road conditions.
  • Instructors evaluate student progress and provide feedback to ensure they meet the necessary standards for obtaining a CDL.
  • They maintain accurate records of student progress, training hours, and evaluations.
  • CDL training emphasizes safety, and instructors must ensure students understand and adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Instructors communicate effectively with students, parents (if applicable), and other staff members.

Staying Current:

Skills and Qualifications:
