Job Title: Cisco ASA Engineer
Location: Minneapolis, MN (90% Onsite, 10% Remote)
Duration: 6 months (Contract)
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cisco ASA Engineer to provide hands-on support for Cisco ASA firewalls, VPNs, and network security operations within a municipal IT environment. The role involves collaborating with vendors, supporting secure network and telephony systems, and assisting with planning and migrations to modern infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco ASA firewalls and VPN solutions to maintain secure network access.
Support telephony and call processing systems, ensuring secure integration with the network.
Serve as the technical point of contact for vendor escalations and contract-related network issues.
Participate in planning meetings and gather requirements for network security and telephony projects.
Assist in migration and implementation of new telephony or network solutions.
Document firewall configurations, network incidents, and resolutions.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while also being able to work independently.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco ASA firewalls and VPNs.
Strong understanding of routing, switching, and LAN/WAN network concepts.
Experience supporting enterprise telephony or call processing systems is a plus.
Proven ability to work with vendors and manage support contracts.
Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cisco certifications such as CCNA Security, CCNP Security, or CCIE.
Experience with hybrid network environments integrating voice and data systems.
Familiarity with municipal or public sector IT and security standards.
