Job Description

EEG Technician at Providence Health and Services summary:

Performs clinical electroencephalographic and other neurodiagnostic studies under a neurologist's direction, ensuring compliance with ASET guidelines and required certifications. Acts as a lead trainer/educator for EEG students while collaborating with program management and medical directors. Requires CAAHEP-trained technologist with ABRET certification, BLS, and ~3 years patient-care procedure experience; role is full-time on-site within Providence's clinical network.

Description

The Electroneurodiagnostic technologist will perform neurodiagnostic studies under the direction of the neurologist in accordance with the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) guidelines. This position takes lead role in training and educating existing and/or new EEG students affiliated with Providence Health and Services Alaska while working collaboratively with the manager and medical director of the program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Neurodiagnostic Program.
  • Upon hire: National Certification from American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 3 years in the performance of procedures in a patient care environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
